Hi, I'm Vince Gregory Self publicity is a necessary embarrassment in my line of business.
I was born in Manchester but at age of 14 I moved to Essex to live with my cousin Cliff Richard and his family. Of course living with Cliff meant I came into contact with some good musicians such as Hank Marvin. (Shadows) I started making serious efforts in learning to play the Guitar, however Cliff also introduced me to the 'Stage' and the world of the performer. He and the Shadows were playing at the London Palladium and I was allowed to walk out on stage before the start. I was nine years old and completely stage struck. I also got to see the world behind the Film and TV cameras and so developed a good respect for the whole industry at an early age.
At age of 22 I started My Music Career as a professional Guitarist and went on to do studio session work and live performances for two major artists. I gained an LTCL diploma from Trinity College London and at 31 I established the Norvin Guitar School. My CV shows the various bands I have formed and the work done in Clubs, Holiday Camps, Theatre's and tours.
Also included is my work as a Musical Director in the theatre.
My Teaching Career started back in the 60's when I was teaching myself to play Guitar. After packing in my day job, I continued to teach in schools in various parts of the country until settling in Felixstowe in 1980. Then my work as a Musical Director at the Spa Pavilion Theatre Felixstowe, brought me to Acting and private lessons helped me to gain my LLAM dip with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art. (LAMDA) I went on to take teaching courses at the academy and was registered in 1998 as a LAMDA teacher. I then established the East Anglia School of Acting & Drama which since moving to Thetford has become the Thetford Academy of Dramatic Art.
My Acting Career started at the Wolsey Theatre Ipswich where I did one season in rep'. I then did some UK tours in children's theatre. plus work as an 'extra' and 'supporting artist' in Films and TV. I was a founder member of Mad Dogs & Englishmen theatre co and I later formed WellMade Theatre Productions as my own theatre company producing and touring in the East Anglia region.
An off spin of my professional experience as an actor is SPBU; the Speaking Business which offers voice coaching and personal presentation skills.
